Yesterday I got sick, and in the afternoon My auntie called to let us know my Beloved Grandfather finally passed away. He had been suffering from Alzheimers for around 10 + years. It was a long, slow processes of watching the man I remembered as a child slowly fade away. As his eldest grandchild, I remembered who he really was: how funny he is, how creative he is, and he was never short of a homemade cookie. He took so much joy in his grandchildren. I missed him already years ago - now I can finally say it out loud. "I miss you Grampa, please be happy from now on. Say hi to Grandma for me."
