Ok, it's no secret I like the fatal frame series, and it;s even lesser a secret which one is my favorite. Being a citizen of Canada though I'm still bitting at the bit for a NA release. However if it doesn't occur I will just have to do what all the OTHER FANS across the North American Country will have to do-
Import the European copy.
Apparently the patch which allowed you to play the 4th game on your wii, will also enable the new released to do so as well. Least that's what it appears, but Techmo has been making waves to protect their games from cracks- which I wont go into greater detail why in this case they should not care I mean- common! We're STILL BUYING IT! Not like we're stealing the darn thing >w>'...
Now if ti really never is released officially in the NA, I will be disappointed- but also surprised. If they really want to make the most amount of profit, banking on the combined effects of being the best rated in the series, and the HUGE fandom that followed it- why not make it available for the largest amount of consumers?
It's no secret to them how many would happily buy it since fans have gone over and beyond to just play the Japanese 4th edition.
You'd think they'd take the hint? >w>;
Techmo may still will. But until we know a few projects have gone underway in the wake of success stories like Operation Rainfall. Twitter/ Facebook and Tumblr all have accounts and sites devoted to IMPLORING the companies involved to make a world wide release.
Feel free to look them up- here's one of those links.

Well at least I have a plan B if worse comes to worse.
But why do I care so much for a NA release? Well- I'm clinging to some silly hope that if they do make one, they would use the original dubbing. First let me explain.
Firstly though- nothing against British Voice actors, I just don't find the re-dub necessarily for one. Unless maybe they couldn't contact the original voice actresses for the extra content?
Secondly and more importantly: after going over the British Dub a few times, and cross comparing, I find I prefer the original english dub for perhaps the most important reason.
I don't think the voices FIT the characters anymore. And NO it's not the accents, it's the delivery and change in tone.
Mayu and Mio are in a way polar opposites in the story, even if the actresses were not as seasoned at the time they still nailed the gist of what the sisters would be expected to sound like given their personalities.
You have your confidant Mio, who's your main character and the heroine charged with the protection of her sister. Her voice was played with a solid firm tonality, even when afraid it was stronger and had no tremors in it even when the character seems uncertain about something.
In contrast Mayu was the frail and sensitive character, the damsel in distress if you will, who's emotions were in a constant torment between her troubled personality and the demented one of the spirit possessing her. Thus her voice was either soft spoken, nervous and trembling- or hysterical and low with a nice laced malice behind it.
When I listened to the British dub, it seemed like those two deliveries were REVERSED!
Now suddenly Mio has the breathy, soft spoken, almost frail sounding voice. And Mayu is short, to the point, even confident! " I'm Ok!" she barks.
The switch to me was so jarring I didn't believe this was the same pair of sisters I was supposed to get emotionally involved with. I suddenly felt like Mio was the one who was clingy- perhaps frightened to loose sight of her sister, while Mayu just kinda wandered off cause she felt like it.
Now I'll be fair, there isn't enough dialog to critic as of now, I'm going to wait for the translation of the latest trailer- but I'm hoping this shift in persona's doesn't stay and maybe it was just an introduction fluke which will solve itself when the rest of the game begins.
If there is no NA release, I'll just have to keep crossing my fingers.
